Many believe this is an unfair reactionary step and stems from the adherence to strict pedicure guidelines that all utensils used in a treatment have to be sterilized by heat afterward. Of course sterilization of the fish would result in death.</p>
<p>The Goldwater institute of Arizona has taken a case on behalf of a local Dr. Fish practitioner against the State cosmetology board to reverse the banning.
